Today was a meandering trip around Capitol Hill, to and from Frink Park, using the same 50mm macro lens and flash as yesterday.

In general, I think these photos turned out better than yesterday, although some of that may simply be better editing. For example, the flies above look more natural, probably because they are less over-saturated.

I was able to get a few interesting non-fly photos too:

Lighting remains a challenge, even with a flash. In the photos above, the foreground leaf was unintentionally overexposed, distracting from the subject, and the insect on the right has excessively bright reflected highlights. A larger diffuser may help with this.
